RE: Paying bills.

You can set up for your bills to be paid automatically through your credit card. This way your creditors do not have access to your checking account, it is "filtered" through your credit card. If you have access to internet just check your credit card bill online and if all charges seem accurate, pay the bill online. If you are uncomfortable with online then call the credit card company's 800 number near the time your bill is due. They can tell you your balance, recent charges, etc. and then give them your checking acct. routing # and account # and they will pull the money for your bill. But honestly, if you ever give online bill paying a try you will be so happy. You are much more likely to be "ripped off" with a regular check in the mailbox than online. Oh, one more suggestion - chose a bank that has branches around the country.

Our dealer had a package too. It was the sway bars and brake controller that were extra.

RE: Retirement plan

I'm with wayne tw - you may be too far out to make specific plans right now. Keep saving, we've always lived below our means too, and now we're both retired. Just enjoy your current set up and take trips to areas you think you might be interested in. South Texas? Gulf Coast? Arizona? New Mexico? Carolinas? If another area really seems like home you'll know it. Then you can make more specific plans. Life has a way of leading you along - as long as you keep your eyes open and your brain turned on. Good Luck !

RE: July 1st another stupid, ill thought out California Law!

Sorry - but I applaud California for the new law. Lot's of the folks around here only have half a brain to start with and then they stick that phone in there ear and lose the other half trying to hold a conversation, phone, and steering wheel at the same time. And Michigan - can't believe you guys didn't have a child restraint law already. I thought all the states had had that for years. Well, I guess with all these new laws and us having to slow down to save gas we will all just live FOREVER !! wouldn't that be nice :)

RE: Texas Thousand Trails Preserves

Temperatures will vary by location of park. The panhandle is MUCH different than the Valley, or Coastal Plain. I haven't stopped there but I have heard people say the Thousand Trails in Conroe is nice.

RE: Is this a good deal? Vague Question I know......

Look around, see what similar sized trailers are selling for in your area. Never buy the first rig you look at.

RE: Chevy 1/2T & 3/4T mpg comparison - identical loads

I for one thank you for the info. We have the 1500 and it pulls our TT just fine. Glad we didn't go with the 2500, especially since we drive it around town too.

RE: Why are trailer parts so expensive?

Sometimes you can find similar parts at Home Depot and do a little modification - saves big bucks.

RE: window moulding

If it's really bad take the moulding off (comes out easily after you figure out the process) put them in a bucket with bleach / water mixture and let them sit for a few hour or over night if needed. Works wonders.

Pump extinguisher ??

I'm hoping someone out there will know what I'm talking about and can help me out. A neighbor had a large metal fire extinguisher that had a hand pump on the top. You could unscrew the top fill with water, close it back, then pump it up. It could spray a LONG distance - even up in the air. I borrowed it and added bleach in the water to eliminate mildew on my second floor siding. It was great. But the neighbor has moved and I can't locate one for myself. I checked with a fire extinguisher company here in town and he didn't know what I was talking about. I've seen the electric power pressure washers - but I'd rather have this other thing. Maybe my neighbor just rigged something up - but it didn't look homemade. Thought someone might be using something like this to wash their rig. Thanks if you can help me.

RE: Drinking water

We bring drinking water from home in separate 2 gal containers. Use for drinking and coffee. Wash dishes and selves from "tank" water. I just feel better about it that way.

RE: A Little Bit of Stormy Weather

Glad your family is safe. I read something frightening, that a large percentage of people killed in tornadoes are killed in their cars, often trying to escape to safer ground.
